Food Chart for Infants - II

From 6 - 9 Months

I already told that upto 6 months give only breastmilk. In case if baby is not enough with the breastmilk mother will give the alternative foods. But don't stop feeding breastmilk. It is possible feed breastmilk upto the age 2.

  • Give Cow's milk or any Packet milk start with 100ml per service. Feed minimum 2 or 3 hours gap per service. If it is undigested for the baby add equal amount of water to the milk for a week.
  • If the baby is above 4 months add a vegetable juice or fruit juice for one service.
  • If the baby is above 5 months feed  porridge at 11. a.m. i.e middle of Breakfast and Lunch time. Feed vegetable juice or fruit juice in the evening 3. p.m. i.e in the middle of Lunch and Dinner time.
  • Other than this feed milk every 2 - 3 hours gap.
  • If the baby is above 6 months Introduce your normal vegetarian foods one by one every 4 - 5 days. This gap is needed because if the food is undigested stop this new food and introduce the same food after 2 - 3 months.
  • Introduce the new foods in the consistency of porridge. i.e if you introduce rice please smash it well like porridge then feed it. Add some cooked vegetables, dhaal, ghee in the food. Smash the vegetables also in the porridge consistancy.
  • Do't stop to feed  porridge at 11. a.m. i.e middle of Breakfast and Lunch time. Feed vegetable juice or fruit juice in the evening 3. p.m. i.e in the middle of Lunch and Dinner time upto the age of 3.
  • Feed breastmilk or milk whenever there  is gap for 2- 3 hours.
